SY 2021-2022 Opening Plan July 23, 2021

Aloha KCS 'Ohana,

We hope you and your 'ohana have had a relaxing, safe, and enjoyable summer break together.

Today we write with an update on the opening plan for the 2021-2022 school year. Listed below are the details of our K-12 program.

2021-2022 School Calendar

The 2021-2022 school year will start on Tuesday, August 3rd for all students.

K-12 Schedules

Grades K-2 will attend on-campus classes each day from 8:00 am - 2:00 pm. Students will be released early on Wednesdays at 1:00 pm.

Grades 3-5 will attend on-campus classes each day from 8:15 am - 2:15 pm. Students will be released early on Wednesdays at 1:15 pm.

Grades 6-8 will attend on-campus classes each day from 8:30 am - 2:30 pm. Students will be released early on Wednesdays at 1:30 pm.

Grades 9-12 will attend on-campus classes each day from 8:30 am - 2:30 pm. Students will be released early on Wednesdays at 1:30 pm.
(*High school students will have varied schedules due to college and other educational opportunities.)

Drop-off and Pick-up

The campus will open each morning at 7:30 am. There will be no campus supervision prior to that time.

Students are to be dropped off in front of the school building off Lipoa Parkway.

Students will be directed by staff members to supervised areas of the campus prior to the start of the school day.

Students are to be picked up at the end of each school day at the same location.

We request that parents do not arrive early for pick-up as this often creates added traffic and slows the pick-up process.

Food Service

Breakfast and lunch will be available to students every day.

Breakfast will be offered from 7:30 am - 8:30 am.

Safety Protocols

Safety will continue to be the #1 priority for the 2021-2022 school year.

Our safety plan will remain in alignment with the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control, Department of Health, County of Maui, and the State of Hawaii.

Social distancing, masks, daily sanitation, classroom/office ventilation, safety signage, general hygienic practices, and other recommended protocols will remain in place.

Specific details on our safety plan will be shared as we draw closer to our opening date due to the fluid nature of the pandemic and the potential for adjustments to the latest safety regulations.

In Closing

We look forward to the return of the students and plan to do all we can to support each member of our KCS 'ohana. Furthermore, we will continue to monitor our plans and make any necessary adjustments along the way. Lastly, please watch for a series of emails as more information about our program will be shared by our faculty and staff in the coming days and weeks.

All the best,

The KCS Team
