Aloha KCS 'Ohana,

We are very excited about the return of the students tomorrow!

Today we are sending a general reminder of the latest Covid-19 school guidance from the Hawaii State Department of Health.

Staying up to date on vaccinations is recommended as a mitigating strategy to prevent the spread of illness. More information can be accessed at hawaiicovid19.com/vaccine.

Individual case investigation, close contact identification, and quarantine of in-school exposures are not recommended for routine in-school exposures.

Masks are optional indoors and outdoors for students and staff. However, indoor masking is highly encouraged (but not required) when Covid-19 community levels are medium or high. As of today, the Covid-19 community level in Maui is classified as high.

Lastly, families should continue to screen their children for symptoms of illness each morning before sending them to school. If they are sick, please keep them at home. If any of our students exhibit one or more symptoms while at school, they will be sent to the school health aide, and parents will be asked to pick them up.

We are sharing the Health and Safety Resource Guide for Families again for your review. It can also be accessed on our homepage at kiheicharter.org.
