STEM Elementary School
Leslie currently serves as the Director of the Elementary and Middles Schools. She has been with KCS for over 10 years and served in a variety of positions. Mrs. Baldridge is a graduate of California State University, Fullerton with a degree in Child/Adolescent Psychology. Additionally, she holds a graduate degree is in Elementary Education and is licensed to teach Elementary and Special Education K-6, with additional certification in grades 5-9 Mathematics.
Kimo was born and raised on the Big Island where he graduated from Hawaii Preparatory Academy and earned a B.S. degree in Kinesiology from UH Hilo.Coach Kimo, as he is called by the students, enters his third year of teaching as a licensed Physical Education teacher in the state of Hawaii. During his time at KCS he has also worked in the Special Education Department. Prior to joining Kihei Charter School, he worked as a Paraprofessional for Hawaii Behavioral Health in West Hawaii. He is active in the sports world as he sees athletics as the perfect avenue to help youth grow and learn to make good decisions. Coach Kimo has coached wrestling and is an accomplished wrestling official serving the MIL and HHSAA.
Matt has served Kihei Charter School since 2010 as an educational Assistant and Teacher. He currently teaches 5th grade math, science, and engineering. In addition, he is the Lead Teacher of the elementary school. Mr. Satovich earned a bachelor's degree in pure mathematics with a minor in liberal studies from Montana Tech of the University of Montana. He is licensed by the state of Hawaii to teach elementary education (K-6) and he has earned certification with PLTW (Project Lead the Way) under the Gateway course in engineering which includes Design and Modeling, Automation and Robotics, and Energy and Environment. He believes strongly in engaging students with hands-on activities, project-based learning and outdoor field studies.
Bridget begins her third year teaching fourth grade at Kihei Charter School. Before teaching, she served as an Educational Assistant at both the elementary and middle schools. Mrs. Hogan started her teaching career in Korea where she taught English to students from 4 to 14 years old. She recently finished the pursuit of her state of Hawaii teaching license and is happy to be putting this new knowledge to good use. Mrs. Hogan has a degree in English from University of California Santa Barbara as well as an ESL certificate. Bridget enjoys everything about Kihei Charter School.
Kimberlee teaches Kindergarten and First Grade at KCS. She in in her sixth year at Kihei Charter School and third year as the Kindergarten and First grade teacher. For the last twenty years, she has enjoyed sharing fun, hands-on activities that help each child to hopefully develop a love of learning. Mrs. Baldridge earned her Bachelor's degree in 2007 from Oregon State and in 2015, she earned her teaching license and Master's degree from Chaminade University. She has always known she wanted to be a teacher and make a difference in the lives of children
Pomai recently joined KCS and is proud and happy to be a part of the KCS Ohana. Born and raised on Maui, she graduated from St. Anthony High School and earned her BA in European and United States History from UH Hilo. After graduating, she returned to her alma mater to teach high school theology and social studies. While teaching at St. Anthony High School, she led student government, was the cheerleading coach and the moderator for various clubs and community service functions. Mrs. Pruett is also certified by the College Board to teach AP United States History. The 2017 - 2018 school year is her 15th year of teaching! She is the proud parent of two children, one a KCS student.
Crystal graduated Magna Cum Laude from Drury University a private liberal arts university located in Springfield Missouri. There she earned her Bachelors of Art degree in general education with departmental distinctions in psychology. Crystal worked with the Ava R-1 school district in Missouri as an educational assistant and substitute teacher for over 3 years before beginning her employment with Kihei Charter School. In 2016 Crystal began working with Kihei Charter Elementary School and will be teaching the 2nd and 3rd grade classes for the upcoming school year. As a teacher Crystal believes that the purpose of education is to help students prepare for the real world by helping them become independent citizens and by providing them with knowledge needed for future careers.
